Starts off well, with a cop, Sleepy in our case having control over town and doing it with every woman possible. It is one of those old series that have some cut out gore,some nudity but no story to back it up. Episode 2 was the funniest by far, after that I find no reason for you to continue it like I mistakenly did

A brutal and unsophisticated OVA series that really it the spot when you're looking for Violence, Sex and Garrr. Pretty well down to that if you don't mind the cliche story. Recommended remedy against overdose of moe filled with weak willed character.

If you're the minority of people that like 90s mindless gory action like MD Geist or Genocyber - look no further. Mad Bull 34 is exactly what you're looking for! Also has quite decent story to it.

Mad Bull 34 is a strange show indeed. It tries to pull off being a sort of Lethal Weapon style cop show, but then its starts acting like a hentai. If this show has any problems, then it is this fact, because it will lose viewers because of this.
Animation
Actually pretty good for how old this show is. It has some nice character expressions and cool fight scenes. Its not the most fluid or beatiful show you have seen but its not ugly either. The animation works for it though, it doesn't detract and that really matters.
Sound
The english dub on this show is great in my opinion. They got the voice for Mad Bull himself perfect. He sounds just like the dirty and gruff, but honest cop he is. Dizaborough (I guess that's how you spell that?) has a pretty well done voice with a thick brooklyn accent. The show has that crappy voice over-style, but it is so stereotyped that it works. No amazing music, just standard fare.
Story
The plot of Mad Bull centers around a big-bad honest cop in New York's roughest precinct. He gets a new partner and off they go to solve some hideous crimes. Each episode tries to be its own self-contained story, but then they also try to form a longer sub-story. The problem is, is that it doesn't really work, some things change from episode to episode and it never seems like they are very connected. I did like the shorter episode stories though with the exception of the last one, which seemed too ridiculous.
Character
The characters in this show really seemed to stick to me though. I found that Mad-Bull himself, was an endering kind of guy. You find out how nice he is and that even though he is boning these chicks left and right, and taking money from hookers, it is all for the better in the long run. Dizaborough is a fairly funny little guy himself, but he shows how tough he can be. They do make a pretty motley pair and it is one of the shows big strengths to me.
Value
For me this show offers some great value, because most of the cop animes out there are all futuristic and weird. This show is more down to earth, yet comical and that is fun. I put this one on DVD because I know I will watch it again and that says it all.
Enjoyment
I had some good laughs and my friends and I can still quote this show now and then. If an anime can do that then I definately got a kick out of it. If you like violence and sex with a comedy twist then check it out, hopefully it will please you.
