Reviews for Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED Destiny Final Plus: Erabareta Mirai (7.32) 91z35

Like kouta said, this episode can be seen as a replacement for the last episode (episode 50) in the original Gundam SEED Destiny series. Though I'd rate it rather much higher that the original ending. Why? Because this one managed to give us an ending in the first place.

Animation: 8 / 10

Let's face it, Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny have both wonderful animations, with smooth battles, impressive explosions and all that stuff. However, the flaw is that many scenes will be used over and over again, like Kira taking off with Strike / Freedom / Strike Freedom. Nevertheless, I don't think it cut's too much from the general value.

Sound: 8 / 10

It might be just me, or it might be my sound card, or it might be the file, but I could swear that Kira and Athrun's voices sounded different between this OVA and Gundam SEED Destiny episode 50. Other than that, the sounds and voice acting is the same level you've seen in Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny. You either love it or hate it. On the other hand, the opening for this OVA has to be a favourite.

Story: 4 / 10

This is a tough one. I am tempted to give this one a bad score, since it is only "an alternate version of the original final episode" and thus has not much story in it. Well, except that the war will come to an end and the story is made of the events that lead to that conclusion. Since I am not reviewing the original series, this one will be, well, a low score.

Character: 9 / 10

In my opinion, the characters have always been the best things in the Gundam universe, especially the SEED one. Kira and Lacus are two of my all-time favourite anime characters, so I might be a bit biased (I try not to). Of course, with a series that has so many characters, some of them are left to a minor role. Nevertheless, this OVA manages to keep up the characters at original detail, with a little bit more of information about a few.

Value: 8 / 10

This OVA manages to explain quite a few things, especially about some people and their objectives / motivations. There have been some changes done to the original ending, though, which is something that should not have been done. Especially the ending at Messiah has been remade. Compare if you don't believe me.

Enjoyment: 9 / 10

If you liked Gundam SEED and it's sequel, Gundam SEED Destiny, chances are high you will like this one too. After all, it brings an end to the long war, which hopefully translates into not having a sequel. Don't get me wrong, I love Gundam SEED and while Gundam SEED Destiny was great too, I just wish for the peace to finally last in that universe. I think the characters have done more that their share of fighting already. Nevertheless, I think this one is a good watch if you have seen the series, it's only 50 minutes and manages to give the Gundam SEED universe a good ending.

Total: 7.7 / 10

Gundam SEED is definately the best series. While many loved Gundam SEED Destiny and it's all-powerful GUNDAMs, the original Gundam SEED is still far better, in almost any aspect. The same goes for this OVA. Now excuse me, I must go enjoy Gundam SEED once more.

All I can say is I give them some points for trying, abiet a failure none the less. Ok now onto the technical business, and believe me this review will be just as degrading to destiny as my review for the actual destiny series.

Anyways animiation and sound, just like the rest of the gundam seed series, it's pretty good but again this is all face value.

Now onto the really good stuff, which really isn't worth mentioning in light of the failure that is the rest of destiny but alas I can't resist the urge to take stabs at the series once again as it fails to please me. Ok first off is story... story? There is one for this OAV? ok ok, so its a revision of the last episode with added stuff but unlike the original it HAS AN ENDING. Yes you heard me, Gundam Seed Destiny now has an actual ending, so I give it some points for trying but thats all the free points GSD will get out of me.

Onto the next victim, I mean subject that is character; in a nutshell refer to my other review it sums it all up, well... mostly. At the very end I do feel a hint of change in Shinn Asuka, which surprised me cause I serously thought he was gonna punch Kira when he realizes that he's the Freedom's pilot. So maybe I'm being a bit unrealistic here on his character but then I about my dog referece in my other review which is accurate for 99.8% of the entire series.

Value and enjoyment, well its better then the original ending I must it, so it gets a decent score.

Conclusion, well to sum it all up...
"Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED DESTINY Final Plus: The Chosen Future" should really be called "Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED DESTINY: The Last Power" I was hoping that GSD might, just might be able to redeem itself with this OAV, but I guess seeing good in GSD will always be a pipe dream that will never happen.

i have to say seed is still the best no matter what..

this episode dont have any thing new..yes ofcurse some new pictures and new small stuff could be figured alon after seenig the last episode from destiny... its close to recap nothing more.. its not a big deal, it doesnt add anything to end. actually it ends the way it started a peace treaty...
feelings of gelt and sadness in shens eyes and every one else..

the ending start a new straggle, like a never ending story..

will you can have this episdoe as areplacment for ep 50 in original sieres...(thats how i think)

as for my rating:
1. Animation: will you cant say anything about it.
2. Sound: opinig ending insert song are: A. Vestige..so its much better this way B. Fields of Hope inserted song, a good choice C.Honoo no Tobira for the ending..it must be a sad ending..(will we are speaking about seed's sequel..right).
3. Story: just look at destiny, story not much but read destiny's reviews for more..(me think its suks if its not related to seed i would never seen it).
4. Character: its good and its been dovolping in a good way in the show, this episode shows how much are deep the character is..(in t he end of the show..when Kira and lucs come to the grave).
5. Value: iam burining it on DVD so its not that bad to see it again..some time.
6. Enjoyment: will its not bad you can see it, if you didnt like the ending in episode 50.
