Bones, also known as Sunrise's former Studio 2, is an animation studio that became independent in October, 1998.

It has produced numerous series, including Wolf's Rain, Scrapped Princess, Eureka Seven, Ouran High School Host Club, Angelic Layer, Darker than Black, Soul Eater, and Full Metal Alchemist.

Their first independent work was a collaboration with Sunrise on Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door based on the hit TV series Cowboy Bebop, which was produced by the studio when it was still part of Sunrise.
