Kimura Shin'ichirou was born October 4 in Hiroshima, Japan. He is a storyboarder and director. His nickname is Kimushin (キムシン), a shortened version of his name.
Kimura graduated from the Department of Art at Osaka University of Arts, majoring in oil painting. He entered university to get a teacher's license for arts. During his university days he belonged to Animation Society CAS (アニメーション研究会CAS).
After graduating from University, Kimura initially ed Hayou no Tsurugi: Shikkoku no Mashou.
He made his debut as a director on an adult OVA under a different name. The first TV series he directed was Burn-Up Excess in 1998.
Kimura's style can largely be described as classical since his works possess few stylistic flourishes or overt idiosyncrasies and Kimura himself is often careful to avoid tresing on the original work or twisting it to showcase his own sensibilities.
