Takamura Kazuhiro was born October 10, 1972 in Fukui Prefecture, Japan. He is a freelance animator and character designer, formerly part of Gainax.
Takamura went to the Studio Sign where he worked for 10 months before applying to Ghibli for a third time. After getting rejected again he worked at a construction company for a year and then applied to Ghibli for a fourth and final time before ing Gainax.
He made his debut as director on the series Strike Witches, which became a surprise hit and got a jury recommendation at the 2008 Japan Media Arts Festival.
