Sai Fumihide was born 1967 in Tokyo, Japan. He is an animator, illustrator and character designer. He started working as animator for Miyuki Production, went freelance for a short time, ed Satelight.
During his time as freelancer he was one of the main animation staff on Hosoda Mamoru's Digimon Adventure films and it was him who invited Ishihama Masashi to an animation meeting for the first film. During his second stint as freelancer he was also part of Hosoda's Omatsuri Danshaku to Himitsu no Shima film. At Satelight he worked as character designer and animator on the Shugo Chara and Shugo Chara Doki anime series, with his adaptation of the original manga's design as well as the illustrations, he provided for various magazines, receiving favourable response.
