Being truly objective, perfect marks across the board. Not exactly what I was expecting, especially since the direction of the first episode is not the direction of the series as a whole. But this show is very high art and obviously a labor of love. Though the "magic ingredient is friendship" trope is played so often it might make some people roll their eyes so hard they hurt themselves.

Cinema-quality use of detail and color, a slightly avant-garde character style that seems a little jarring at first but grows on you, a dreamy (and tear-jerking) score, this show is a must watch for anyone who wants to relax and not worry about forced drama or a big bad that has to be dealt with. Even if you don't like school life or shoujo stories, this is still a very well done piece of work that you should seriously consider.

No twisted classmate, no super power and main character is not an idol. The story is simple and beautiful. Every character is lovable, but it is a bit short and rush. It has seen awhile since I last watched a simple anime that I can just watch and enjoy every moment. Art work is very good too, hopefully there will be 2nd season.

If you take Sol and boost up the small details that it almost becomes fanservice. Be it hair flowing in the wind or a girl stretching her arms. That's what Akebi is about. It will make your have mini orgasms any time you see it. Even the camerawork is pretty good (which is a weird thing to say about an anime). Funny thing is none of it is even NSFW, yet it's wayy much more entertaining than a casual ecchi show.

A totally superb production value, pretty unique style, and an explosive SoL. And explosive final episode to top it off. I don't care about sakuga showcases in action anime, but this one this totally different.

You might feel a lot of unique things with this: cringe, creeped, or just 2nd hand embarrassment in general. When I thought of modern SoL, I usually thought of comedy to fill most of the blanks. But this one is doing something else.

So a bit of a warning. If you hate casual fan service, you might hate this too, despite none of them are NSFW.
